You could add new art all the time and just erase it whenever you want a change. You know, I don’t have access to a chalkboard, but I’m now tempted to cover one of my walls with chalkboard paint. This gif shows how it came together line by line:Īnd the finished spaceship in all its glory: He used blueprints for the T-65 X-wing starfighter and drew rough thumbnails before reproducing the sketches on a bigger scale. Santell spent six hours creating the X-wing with chalk.
I have no doubt Poe Dameron would happily take this for a spin. The chalk art was specifically inspired by the X-wings seen in teasers and trailers for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The industrial designer took a chalkboard and transported the plain black surface to the Star Wars universe by adding a X-wing. What do you think about when you see a blank wall?
